Virtual Tour of our Special Operations / Mass Casualty Trailer
Norwood EMS's latest addition to the fleet is a special duty
trailer placed into service in 2003. The primary use of the trailer is to
carry equipment for large scale and extended operations. The equipment in
the trailer is sufficient to effectively mitigate any large scale operation
using our own resources. The trailer allows us to:
-
Establish a Command Post
-
Deliver Medical Supplies to as many as 200 victims
-
Backboard 10 Patients
-
Supply Oxygen to as many as 15 patients
-
Supply Two Self Sufficient Meals to 50 people
-
Supply Hot Coffee / Water / Energy Drinks to Firefighters and
Other Emergency Personnel
-
Create a "Cooling Station" at which we can lower the ambient air
temperature 15 degrees to cool as many as 20 People.
